I recently took up fiction writing again, something I used to do a few years back. If you fancy a coffee-break read (all the stories on here are less than 1000 words) you can find one of my efforts here:

http://www.everydayfiction.com/space-invader-by-sandra-crook/

Hope you enjoy it...

Really enjoyed the story Minx, well done.. I don't read books apart from specialist stuff, but this was very entertaining, thanks,
I just read the story about the snowman too.. very creepy! Confused I've saved the page on my favourites so I'll get to read all the horror ones in time! Razz

Thanks Littlepieces! Glad you enjoyed the story.

I forgot there was a link to the Microhorror web-site SFF. I seem to have had more success with horror stories....well they're not really horror (I don't do entrails and stuff). They're more just weird.

Shocked

Oh and thanks to whoever cast a vote for Space Invader - my total went up by one last night! Laughing

I enjoyed it too,Minx .....an imaginative subject matter....I particularly liked this line...."strip away the layers of assurance that he had so carefully cultivated over the years"

Thanks for posting Smile

Yes, I liked that line too... it reminded me of a similar; personal occurrence whereby my former Boss of 23 years, came for a brief stay here in our Residential Home... even though I'd "done pretty well for myself" and a good few years older, he still made me very nervous whilst in his company.. he was still my Boss! Confused

ps.. it was me who cast the vote... Laughing

Ah you're a star SFF Laughing Much appreciated!

It's funny isn't it, how people still have the power to make you feel uncomfortable, long after they really cease to have any power over you. I was the same with my maths teacher - my brain would just freeze when I saw her, just like years ago.

Just got round to reading this Minx, really enjoyed it. I've put the site in my favourites too for when I've a bit more time.

Thanks Becky, glad you liked it. This was a true event; there's a lone swan in Castelnaudary (where we moored the boat last winter). The villagers took pity on it and found it a mate ... the rest, as they say, is history. Crying or Very sad

If you want to read more of my stories, this link will take you to the Published Work page of my web site, where there are links to all my work. Nice to know you enjoy them.

Ah, it was rather sad ..I thought it was from your fertile imagination,Minx.......I'm guessing the mayor and his lady friend were figments of your imagination,though... Very Happy

Thanks for the link!
