I'd never heard of him before but saw this programme being discussed on the POV board so thought I'd give it a go .....and I loved it ...quite bonkers but very watchable ...it's a one off at the moment but I do hope they bring him back for further cases

Holistic detective Dirk Gently's investigation into a missing cat links to an encounter with an old friend, an exploding warehouse, a missing billionaire and some biscuits.

...and based on the writings of the late, great Douglas Adams, of course.

I liked it, I've never read the original story but it's on a list of books to read.

cast well, acted well and some great laugh out loud moments. I think you will like it Colin

From the trailers I didn't think I would like it, but I did. It was very good. Smile

I'm watching it now. I've not read the books, but the TV version seems to be in a buddy detective format (as with the original ATV Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) - the incidental music reminded me of that!).

I like Stephen Mangan and Darren Boyd anyway.
