I fast-forwarded the acrobats (I was avoiding the Sports Personality Of The Year Show). Susan Boyle should have had a stage invasion by a music fan a la Jacko on the Brit Awards.
Cheryl Cole has no talent and I hope Adele and Rumer get better known for theirs.
Michael McIntyre shouldn't have joked about Shane McGowan. Take That's set looked like it was designed by Graham Norton. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

I recorded the programme then skimmed through it but didn't really see much to stop me skimming apart from the lovely Michael Crawford who just came on to introduce somebody I would love to have heard him sing something...(he didn't did he?) |

At least Her Majesty had the good sense not to inflict it upon herself - she sent the "C" Team! _________________ MiS |

Michael Crawford introduced the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of The Wizard of Oz.
A pity it's not a modern re-imagining set in a bank in Headingley - I felt like the manager was going to ask me to get the Wicked Witch of The West's broomstick yesterday! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

I think the camera zooming etc was bad on the acrobats, they were good, and Susan Boyle should have left that song alone, Lou Reeds original is much better. I agree with your other comments. |

It's interesting (and significant) that Cheryl Cole's mic track was Autotuned but Susan Boyle's wasn't. In fact, I think that Cole was lip-synching anyhow - as she has done on two occasions on the X-Factory.
Says a lot for her "talent", huh? |

I found it all a little mundane so turned over after a while.
I don't think it was a good idea for Ray Davies and Paloma Faith to sing live ... as much as I loved the Kinks and the songwriting, this was not good... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

For anyone who didn't see it and doesn't know Michael Crawford will be playing the wizard in the production. Not a huge fan but did like Sophie (who came second in the search for show and is alternate Dorothy) so may try and get down to see it when she is on.
Didn't see the RVP but thought what I did see, was better than recent years efforts. _________________ Put some records on while I pour |
