Marko, you could at least do the poor man the courtesy of spelling his name correctly! LESLIE NIELSEN.
A fine comic (and serious) actor. _________________ MiS |

Whenever I see a headline - especially one relating to media personalities - I always picture Marko rushing to post a link here and elsewhere. After watching a piece about Neilsen on the Beeb I thought I'd check here out of curiosity.........
Yep! He dunnit again! |

I guess Marko thinks we don't see or hear any news at all. Still, where would we be without him? _________________ MiS |

Favourite line from Police Squad:
Drebin (in that wonderfully deadpan voice, whilst interviewing the widow of a murder victim): We're sorry to intrude at such a time. We would have come earlier but your husband wasn't dead then.
RIP.

Am I the only one who liked his serious work on "Forbidden Planet"? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

No Cherskiy, That's one of my favourite films... I recently mentioned on here that I'd bought a special edition US DVD of Forbidden Planet with loads of extra scenes, deleted stuff and other SciFi stuff but it wouldn't play on my machines as it was Region 1 only..
I dropped it into a place Friday to get a UK DVD friendly copy!
Great film and yes, Leslie Nielsen played a great character in it...
I also bought a plastic kit of Robby the Robot recently too... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Maybe you don't? I don't care if you and Colin don't. Some others may want too. |

Did anyone else notice on the Family Guy Blue Harvest episode, they had him as the doctor from Airplane saying 'I'd just like to say good luck!' as Peter Griffin/Han Solo was guiding the ship!
Quagmire/CD3PO says 'And Lois is getting wobblier!', just like the silly man in the control tower!
I also loved Family Guy's Naked Gun titles tribute. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!

Excellent episode of family Guy.. The first Star Wars take off was so clever.. the second wasn't quite as good imo.. but the time machine trip back to 1939 show made up for that... genius..
I really hope a new series see's it back on form as the last was lacking somehow. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

They've "stolen" quite a few gags from Airplane. Pretty sure there was a similar speech to the "free to pursue a life of religious fulfilment" that was great in Airplane.
Can't think of any more of the top of my head, but I'm sure they'll come to me!
Ah the speech I was talking about was from "Love Blactually" (Season 8 Episode 1) about 16:30 in, if anyone was interested!
