This is like Ben's reaction to Auntie Angela's box of seeds on Outnumbered, but worse!

'It's a box of SEEDS!'

My sentiments exactly. I used to be really grateful when people bothered to buy me books for Christmas. Now I have to buy them myself!

(Latest purchase: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Projekt-Natter-Weapons-Luftwaffe-Classic/dp/1903223628/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293565130&sr=8-1 - a light read for the festive period!)

Pleased to say I got several books for Christmas to add to my already vast collection! It would be a dull old world without them.

Me too. We always acquire books at this time of year. I'm currently reading Stephen Fry's new book which I'm enjoying - it's impossible not to read his words without hearing his distinctive voice speaking them!!!

My daughter gets books every year (as well as other things) but it's a good thing to have books about. I not the most well read person in the world but I have always got one on the go even if it does take me a while to get though them.
Last Christmas I brought my 13 year nephew the first discworld book The Clour Of Magic by Terry Pratchet I was so excited for him to have this book as it is a great book and not even a very big one, he's still not read it, but I will keep trying.

I did well for books this time too, Warrior of Rome II: King of Kings (Warrior of Rome 2) loved the first one
also I got the Pillars of the Earth books by Ken Follett, I really enjoyed the tv series so requested the books for xmas, these could keep me going for a while.

Me and Daughter are going to read the Chronicles of Narnia this year for bed time, I've not read all of them before so looking forward to that.

I got a Kindle for Christmas and have been busily downloading loads of 'classics' from Amazon, I've got about 20 so far and not had to pay for any of them.
I love books but this Kindle is a brilliant thing.
