Bobby Farrell the only male singer from the 70's disco group Boney M has died at the age of 61. The singer was found dead in his a hotel room in St Petersburg - Russia where he was performing.

I can't believe Mr Cheese has died, but such a massive band of the time. Boney M songs will live on for ever. RIP.

You're very late with this "news story", Mark. We've discussed it elsewhere.

Yes.. and as Colin was such a fan, he was just about to buy some tickets from me for the musical..

"Boney M musical opens in West End..
The musical is on at the Shaftsbury Theatre in London
Daddy Cool, a musical based on the Euro-disco band Boney M's music, has received its West End premiere."

Why don't certain posters read all the postings since their last visit which would avoid the very irritating practise of having multiple threads on the same subject which is becoming more prevalent

Or is it just that they are addicted to posting new threads whether appropriate or not? Sad

Where else is it being discussed then? I can't find it.

Why don't some of you make a News years resolution to stop being so picky, if there is another thread so what? just don't bother to read the new one.

It's under "Shows and Music on Radio 2" - on the thread "Could there be anything worse than?"

Toggy- It's not a matter of being picky

Where posts are divided between two or sometimes even three threads it makes it difficult and time consuming to tie in the overall gist of what is being said and the problem is so easily avoidable

There is a link on this forum which allows members to view all posts since their last visit and if people take the trouble to do this even if they quickly skip through the ones which do not interest them at least they then know what has been posted and therefore not to start a new thread for a subject which already has a thread

It's not exactly rocket science and I think that some people should make it their New Year resolution to exercise the old grey matter a bit more in 2011
Anyway Happy New Year to all Smile

I agree that sometimes the titles for certain threads don't give a very good indication of what is posted on there and of course there will always be a certain amount of overlap between different threads but the fact remains that if you check all the posts since the last visit you will know if something has been posted on a thread where you might not expect to find it and therefore avoid falling into the trap of creating multiple threads

I know we don't live in a perfect world and people are only human but I'm simply trying to suggest a logical way of avoiding such problems where there is an easy solution and I'm certainly not going to fall out with anyone over it Smile

I'm with Toggy on this ... ...last week on POV about thirty threads were started (by new members) within minutes of each other about The Nativity programme that was shown on BBC 1 .... didn't bother me ...was quite funny really as some regular members whilst complaining about them instead of ignoring them contributed to them and kept them on the front page of the board.......Very Happy

Just goes to show some people do this sort of thing on purpose whilst others.............

As I type this I'm listening ....and enjoying it immensely, too..... Cool ..to Johnnie Walker talking to Ray and Dave Davies which was fleetingly referred to on another thread ...now do I leave my mention of it on this thread or start another one in case some miss it (the programme that is) as a new one would be more likely to be noticed...

Edit

61 is no age .....Sad

RIP
