I switched on about half an hour ago

Motown tracks seem a bit thin on the ground from what I've heard so far unless I missed them all in the first hour

Good show though as always

I've heard Edwin Starr and Isley Brothers that I can bring to mind.

PS think it's more soul at the moment though Ruddles.

Excellent music, even if Littly Timmy Bannockburn hasn't got anything much to say - I've lost count of the number of name checks he's given himself and Radio 2.

It seemed pretty good(I'll listen later)
He was on Radio London at the same time(as the Radio show ws live)the BBC Radio London must've bee recorded and according to a poster on Digital Spy it was different and more specialist on Radio London.

So Tony was on two BBC stations at the same time.

I heard part of the show & quite enjoyed it. Tony has a good presentation manner & selects the retro stuff. Thankfully not too much Motown

Nothing wrong with Motown, was a bit thin on the ground last night.

That was one of the best shows I heard on the station for ages. He's a genius at it and going out his way to come and present a LIVE show on New Years Eve. I think maybe some presenters should take a leaf out of his book about doing live shows. I reckon Tony will get another show this year on the station. Maybe he should cover Chris Evans or Steve Wright.

I disagree. I really don't think he's suited to covering either of them at all.

I think he should replace them.

Well, I enjoyed it especially as it was what it was intended to be a Party and upbeat kind of show.

I have to agree that the show was a great listen, I enjoyed the party atmosphere, it reminded me of the glory days of R1 back in the 70's and 80's.

Blackburn's arrival at R2 was the only positive thing to happen at the station in 2010. To have him deputise on the breakfast show would be a great idea, but very unlikely as the Ginger Controller would not allow it, as it may prove to be too popular.
