I've just listened to a Tony Blackburn Audioboo in which he's uploaded a short sequence from one of his 1976 shows. He plays a sequence Radio 1 jingles and DJ name airchecks and linked with the minimal of his own links.

Anyhow, he joked that if things carried on like this, such automation could do the DJ out of a job! Ironic really - especially when you listen to the robotic networks like Heart.......

It was left to the BB1's East Midlands opt-out of Inside Out last night to pay tribute and give Radio Trent a decent burial. David "Kid" Jensen, Dale Winton, Clive Tyldesley (ITV football commentator) and Anne Marie Minhall (Classic FM) all did time there. When it started in 1975 Radio 1 could still only be heard on AM here, so its pop formula was an instant success; funnily enough its long-running breakfast DJ (before the zoo animals took over) John Peters, now sounds more like Tony Blackburn than Tony Blackburn.

Listening to the "new" Capital FM it sounds as though his prophecy has come to pass already.
