As a long standing Liverpool fan I think the club has made what is a correct but difficult decision
I have a lot of respect for Hodgson and I think the decision is in his best interests as much as the club's because he was beginning to become a laughing stock amongst the fans and that is something new for Liverpool Football Club and not a good thing
I'm very pleased Kenny has been brought in and I think he should have been given the job at the start of the season
With Ian Rush as his assistant I think most fans will feel we can now genuinely go forward although it will still be a long uphill task and all the players who are not performing need to be told quite clearly that either they start putting more effort in or they will be out whoever they are
I think our chances of beating Man United tomorrow are now much better as every player will now be playing to impress the new manager (hopefully) _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Hopefully he will sideline some of over paid players. Sometimes I feel football clubs should sack those under-performing players, instead of the manager. |

Listening to this being discussed on the radio it seems the consensus is that Kenny is the man for the job.....some even saying he will be staying longer than just to the end of the season.....which begs the question why wasn't he first choice before Roy ?
I feel sorry for Roy.... |

Gerrard was red carded today ( Sunday ) match against Manchester United. He's one of the useless England players, who can't even play at his best for his own club. |

Excuse me he's one of the best players in the world and got wrongly sent off today when he went for a 50/50 ball
I agree he has been going through a bad patch recently but good players don't simply become bad overnight
Liverpool were very unlucky not to get a draw today and certainly the wrong decision of the referee to award a penalty in the first minute ruined the game _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Mark: to say Gerrard is useless really is a stupid thing to say! I agree with Ruddles that he is one of the best players in the world. His sending off was not justified.
More to the point, that cheating overseas b*st*rd Berbatov clearly dived and the overrated ref Howard Webb was conned. Never a penalty.
And it's not just foreigners who cheat. Theo Walcott, who I always thought of as honest and decent, now admits diving for Arsenal's last minute penalty, thus depriving Leeds of a famous victory. |

Liverpool could have spared the blushes. Instead they have to pay £7 Million in compensation to Roy. The money could have paid for a couple of players. |

You wouldn't get a couple of top quality players for £7 million pounds these days Mark
A decent striker alone would cost at least £12 million
Haven't you heard of inflation _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

It's Liverpool - they wouldn't be "top quality" _________________ MiS |

Alright then perhaps I should have said that Liverpool wouldn't be able to buy two mediocre players for £7 million
Their recent track record in signing players has been absolutely abysmal and I say that as a longstanding supporter but I think you might just find things will change under King Kenny's regime
He'll be looking to sign good young players for the right price rather than lazy second rate established expensive ones as his predecessors seemed prone to do
The example of Robbie Keene springs to mind _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Ruddles, you'll be pleased that you won't be signing Keene. He's gone to Birmingham for £6m! |

Exactly Schiz, which proves my point
Why was it that Liverpool paid a vast sum of money for the player who was singularly ineffective when Birmingham can buy him for a realistic price
I'm not saying Keene is the worst player in the world but he was nowhere near worth what Liverpool signed him for which is why he spent a large part of the season on loan from Spurs to Celtic
Tottenham obviously thought they could happily manage without him and still do _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
