Another show from the archives, this one celebrating the Light Programme and broadcast on Radio 2 back in July 1995. The presenter is Chris Stuart.

It's a great site that Brian runs.
Whilst it's good to hear the old comedies on BBC Radio 7 what a shame the BBC can't find a slot to repeat some of the old music shows. What happened to all those recordings by the various Radio Orchestras I wonder. |

Must ask Brian Reynolds about what recordings/broadcasts have been saved from the Light Programme, clearly he has a source for what he has provided already.
The sound files he has upoaded are very low rate mp3 but are listenable so I assume then that the 'originals' he has are of high quality, are presumably not home-recorded reel-to-reel tapes, though some of these of course were good recorders. So, hopefully there is a good archive either at the BBC or elsewhere. I have some LPs of BBC radio orchestras, I think only from the 1960s. _________________ -
