Simon Hughes was first to come out of the hatch in attacking Ed Milliband & Labour after the trouncing of the Lib Dems in Oldham East.
Always an opportunist, remember that it was Simon Hughes who conducted a shalefully blatant homophobic campaign against Peter Tatchel in Bermondsey. Of course, a decade later when being gay was more acceptable, Simon admited that he himself is gay.
Simon Hughes went so far as to call this Tory-led coalition "progressive".
And having refused to vote for increased student fees he then told reporters the policy was right- it was just the "perception" that is wrong.
Simon sees the large number of Muslims in the UK so engages in some rather viscious Israel-bashing
And then he went on to say, straight faced, that "To Allah belongs the Kingdoms of the heaven and the earth, and you will see each other humbled to their knees.”
Quite an unbeleivable statement for someone who is not a Muslim.
But he went further. Apart from refusing to admit that the Jewish people have a right to exist in their own state (Israel), he appeared to back Islamist demands for a worldwide Califate when he told a Muslim audience:
"“Every country of the world is your country.”
What does this meam? The flag of Islam over Downing Street??
Is Hughes really a deevotee of the Koran?? No it is just his shameless opportun ism- yet again |

I presume Mark is reffering to the Five year parliament.
I just saw Simon Hughes on the news as I type. He looks like a very dodgy vicar |

I just can't see how it can be anything other than a "gentlemen's agreement". As soon as Cameron sees fit to put the knee into Clegg's groin he will - regardless of any agreements between the two parties. |

I agree. Clegg needs Cameron more than vice versa. Though there is unease in Tory ranks about Cameron pulling strings to help lib dem candidates in by elections at the expense of conservative party, generally the Tory support remains fairly solid.
Clegg & his Parliamentary Lib Dem party have lost most support of their membership & voters |
