So the DJ's christmas party was last Friday? Not much mentioned about it, but have read on the R2 MB, 'there was some trouble last year as there was a leak how much it cost? I know Wogan didn't go as his son got married over the weekend, and Wossy never went as he was asking Michael Ball when he appeared as a guest on his Saturday show. ( Michael said he had a real bad hangover ) Embarassed

Mo Dutta referred to it on Saturday morning - something about them having turkey for a change (since every other year it's "oh, let's have something else for a change").

I've heard nothing else.

Seems you've done a bit of a 180 since RB started, haven't you, Scott? Smile

Chris & Sally mentioned it tonight. Chris said that Sally was a bit drunk and started pointing her finger at him saying there are 3 things she wanted to say to him [Chris].

Saly mentioned that Chris tripped [?] and fell over at some stage.

Anyway apparently it went on till about 4am, although Mr & Mrs Carrington may have left earlier.

Hope they got a decent presenter in to spin some good music during the party.

Only one choice in my opinion to do that -the mighty Richard Allinson who else.

Mark,

Mo said, last Saturday, that Tim didn't do his wheels of steel thing this year , so he must have just sat and kept quiet ...... difficult to imagine I know... Smile

Have just clicked-Richard could not have been at the party as he was busy working as frontman for Friday Night is Music Night on FRiday 8th December-what a star.

What a great show is was by the way-tuned in via the Listen Again feature.

Richard Allinson rocks.

Couldn't it been pre-recorded?

Actually, without wishing to contradict too blatantly, Friday Night is Music Night is usually live. It's pre-recorded in August as the peformers / presenters are usually away, and occasionally at other times, but for the rest of the year it is usually live (says she who often goes!)

Mindda-I thought Richard was an excellent frontman/host of this show.

He was quite humourous-it came across on the radio that the audience seemed to have a great time.

I'd say it was live because of the reference to Alan Freeman's Funeral at the end which was the previous day. Bullfrog reported on it on the R2 boards as he was there.

My Mum went to one in Newcastle a few years ago that Ken Bruce hosted and it was live.

Radio2 had a party for the press as well at the Charlotte Street Hotel. Champagne aplenty and the unlikely double act of Terry Wogan and Russell Brand proved a winning combination. Even Jason Donovan popped in to say hello.
