This is the longest I've spent browsing these forums on my iPhone and Given fact that phpBB is not smartphone friendly I think I've got it sussed!

Isn't modern communication technology fab!

I've even posted here when in the pub. Sad or what?

Did you see the clip this morning of the woman so busy looking at her phone she tripped over and fell into the water feature at a Pennsylvania Mall? Laughing

Before you can say "text" they'll be slapping a health warning on them and banning their sale to anyone under... or over.....

Yes, Santa, I saw that. Very funny it was too - silly cow! Smile

I was being slightly mischievous posting this thread because I did indeed anticipate responses along the lines of "a mobile phone is but a mobile phone" etc etc., whereas in reality the web - along with everything else linked to it - is now going mobile at a rapid pace. The traditional "computer" running "programs" is now being pushed aside by all manner of mobile devices running "apps".

The other night I was showing someone how to access websites on an iPhone or Android device, and that's why I was looking at these forums in the pub on my iPhone. I was doing so to indicate that phpBB isn't "mobile friendly" whereas a new site development rule is now that all sites should serve up a mobile version as well. We're already approaching a point where more people are using smartphones and tablets to access web services than traditional "computers" and this will transition will accelerate rapidly over the next year or so. Bring it on!

Anyway, I'm off now. I'm showing a group how to record an interview via AudioBoo at 11.00am. Bye.

I've got a Blackberry now and I love it. Don't use it much to access the web, but it's so handy if you need to.

I was buying some tickets online the other week at work and had forgotten my password for the particular site. I asked for a reminder, they emailed the password through, I accessed it on my Blackberry and managed to get in. Fabulous!
