I really can't understand how he thought he could get away with this. These people think they are above the law, and treat the tax payers like fools.

Whilst I don't seek to defend any dishonest MP or Peer or anyone else for that matter these recent cases are the tip of a very large iceberg and a great many others who should have been prosecuted have got away Scott free simply because they had the intelligence to repay their illgotten gains before anyone could take any action

With a few notable exceptions we have a corrupt and dishonest Parliament which has lost almost all of its credibility and we need to get back to old values when ordinary people aspired to become an MP for the honour of representing their peers rather than as a meal ticket and a step on the way to bigger and better things

With ex-MPs & Lords the prisons are not going to be big enough. I suppose it could be a cunning plan. If you were a self respecting burglar would you enjoy being in clink with a load of politicians. It's a good deterrent.
