Really enjoyed Johnnie's sundy gig this week after being laid low with flu all week. One or two operator errors Very Happy , some great music and a lovely laid back presenter. His sunday show has changed so much from the organic, happy clappy nonsense it was at the start, to a high quality cross of his R1 sat sequence and his old drivetime. Glad he's got rid of the chat on the phone feature. Anyone else enjoying?

Glad to hear it BB Laughing In the early nineties, my old mum and dad used to go to skeggy nearly every saturday (from leicester) and I would tag along for the ride. In the winter they would leave skeggy at about 2.30pm to get back to leicester by about 5pm. I would really enjoy being snug in the back of their car after a few pints of Batemans at lunchtime, listerning to JW whilst we sped through the wild lincolshire countyside. Happy days!

I was at Skeg on Friday, too early to get a pint, there for just after 8 AM. I regularlly go right past the Bateman's brewery at Wainfleet All Saints, I don't drink the stuff myself. Where you from in Leicstershire then general, I lived at Blaby, from 60 - 62, went to South Wigston boys High School, great as it was right next to South Wigston Girls High School Razz

Hi BB, My family come from markfield on the A50 btw coalville and leicester.
I now live in Bristol. I know wainfleet well, my dad used to take the A52 to near boston, branch off through hubberts bridge, sibsey and east leake and then on to wainfleet. Marvellous little villages.

I think JW would cheer me up if I was due to have my head chopped off Very Happy
I don't know what it is about his presentation but he does make you feel special. He did work here in Bristol in the early 80's at GWR but that is before I moved here. I used to listen to leicester's centre radio in 1981 and a certain Alan West was station manager! Never heard him since
