Discussion on Jeremy Vine show 28/01/11, about heating oil been stolen from tanks in farms and houses in rural areas of the UK. A bloke on the phone said 'he's protected his with alarms'. Also I was quite amazed with one caller said ' he would cage one'. I would think that had ended the subject straight away. Do these subjects really need to be discussed when people should use common sense like the ones mentioned?

This is a real worry for those of us who have oil central heating. In this area, thieves have been following the delivery tankers from their depots as they make the deliveries.

JV's production team on the button as usual - tabloid journalism at its best, eh? This is a very, very old story. This has been happening for years in the North Bucks countryside and elsewhere.

I recall this subject was covered on the JV show previously and certainly within the last 18 months

I imagine they must have been short of ideas
Either that or there's a new producer who wasn't aware of the situation

I agree though it is a serious problem

I have LPG and there are not many good things about it but at least is is virtually impossible to nick Smile

I think a caller did mention the story wasn't new. Must be a slow week.

I think it has, but I suppose the 'news' was the horrendous rise in the cost of replacing what has been stolen.
