Well…. listen to he most hirsute radio show on earth anyway…

Alex Lester. Of course

He still rocks. This morning Alex was talking about having your own brand of perfumes etc. Can I smell bacon? Come to mamma big boy!

Also a great thread on like it or lump it.

He's so cute, cuddly and not controversial in any way. He’s doing a great job of keeping Radio 2’s average hair count up. Although I suspect that razor manufactures have missed his custom since he gave them the heave ho. I wonder of he shaves his chest?

Back in 1976 he was on the local commercial radio station in Stockton-on-Tees "Radio Tees" as was Jeff Stelling of Sky Sports and Channel 4's Countdown.

And Jeff Stelling:

Some great airchecks and jingles on this site too.

Thanks Andy and for the correcton too... Laughing

Its hard to believe he's been doing the late slot on Radio 2 for approx 21 years and now I have read that website, I do remember him doing presentation at Radio 2.

I have not listened to radio 2 through the night for years, I have to be honest.

I had not realised he was at Tees as late as 1983...then I maybe listened less at that time because I was working and in 1984 my Father passed away. But I did listen to Metro Radio and Radio Tees so I must've heard him.

Oh yes he does!

The Dark Lord is a rare beacon of light in an otherwise dull and bleak line-up of poor presenting talent.

Loving the SHOE, Alex! Cool

I think Alex is a very good presenter. Unfortunately, he's too good for today's Radio 2!

One wonders if that is why he (& the likes of Janice Long) don't get let out in the daylight any more.

Yes it is!... This is why they create a listenable show so people to listen again. It a great shame!! You can only blame a handful of people who made Radio 2 like that.

It looks like Alex is hosting Bob Harris Country tomorrow night, according to the Radio 2 website.

It's not the first time Alex has covered for Bob.
