Lionel Richie used to work in a Halal butcher shop.
He liked to sing to his customers
"Halal,
Is it meat you're looking for?"

Yes, I wonder whether it was the same one where Paul Young used to work?

He was often heard singing to his customers 'Every time you go away you take a piece of Meat with you' Very Happy

It's surprising what some of these well known musicians get up to

I remember when John Fox one of the founder members of Ultravox left the band he went into underwear sales because on his first solo single in the early 80s he can clearly be heard singing about 'Underpants

If you don't believe me just give it a listen Smile

Doesn't Will Young run a chippy? Didn't he sing in one of his hits 'I think I'd better deep fry now'?

Can it possibly get any worse? Yes I'm afraid so

Can anyone ever forget that well known mid 80s track by Climie Fisher called 'Love Changes Everything' where,in the chorus, they are singing about Breaking Wind

Even worse is another 80s track 'Secret Lovers' by Atlantic Star in which they appear to sing that they can take the chance to pee on the lawn

What is it with these people and lavatorial lyrics?

I wonder if they're into organic gardening and pee on their compost heaps as well as discussed on the Jeremy Vine show a few months ago Shocked

I'm sure Michael Jackson used to do promotions for Royal Mail.... one of his songs urges us to "get down to the Post Office".

In my local butchers they've recently started playing music in an effort to attract more customers
I went in the other day and noticed they were playing that well known track written by Cat Stevens 'The Worst Cut is the Cheapest'

Then I went down the road to the fishmongers which doesn't get many customers as they keep running out of fish and often have only one variety
Apparently Sting went in there a few years ago and that's what made him write the track 'Sole Only' Very Happy

Doesn't Madonna keep strange company! She sings of 'Young girls with eyes like potatoes' in her hit La Isla Bonita. And also in the same song 'I fell in love with lumbago'! Shocked
