The beginning of the future has arrived (is that grammatically correct? Never mind). Very soon, we won't need a telly to view telly, because the iPlayer has now come to a massively popular tablet near you. Best thing of all is that it's a free download from Apple's iPad App Store.

With the iPad 2 close to being announced (so the rumour-mill has it, anyhow) this is going to be a very interesting one to watch, if you get my drift.

(That's a genuine shortened link, by the way, not a phishing attempt by me!). Smile

I'm very excited. No, really. I am, because this signals the true potential for a user-base that's much larger than domestic TV viewers - think education, training, corporate communications......... and stuff like that.

OK, so I'm a lifelong geek - and proud of it!!! Cool

Are they going to make a 50" iPad so we can watch football while we travel and shop? Surely retina implants is the next step, then we could have iplayer beamed directly to our optic-nerves wherever we are. No need to carry a slab of technology aound with us, no batteries required, it would run off body chemicals. Although the eraly versions may need a little solar panel implant in the top of your head.

I've just patented the idea, Rachel. Thanks for that! Smile
