Has anyone heard Toby LeRone who has already made an appearance on Steve Wright, Alex Lester and Vanessa Feltz on Radio 2, as well as Radio Ulster, Radio Scotland and a load of other locals? |

This started sometime ago on the Chris Moyles show. People been texting the name - Toby LeRone ( Toblerone ) on other radio stations, too see if presenters get caught out. Seems a little childish, but can be a laugh. |

I don't understand the Toblerone connection, Mark. Are you saying this Toby mate of Moyles likes chocolate? |

I still don't get it. So who is this "Toby Le Rone" character, Mark? Is it pseudonym or something? |

He featured on Radio 4's PM programme. There was an article about the Top Gear programme making derogatory remarks about Mexicans and whether it was acceptable for the racial steretyping. Eddie Mair read out an alleged email that read "I'm Swiss and I get this racial sterotyping as regular as clockwork. From Toby Le Rone. I just assumed someone was having a laugh _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

This sort of thing is hardly new. Michael Hunt (or Mike to his friends) has been doing it for years.... |

I haven't heard it on air - but this story even made it to eRadio Newsletter this week!
Quote: | SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING... Chris Moyles has been having some fun at the expense of "stupid" (his word) radio presenters everywhere in the last week. Have you read out a text from Toby Larone? How about Carly Wurly, Taffy Crisp, Mr T Wix or perhaps even Annette Curtain, Warren Peace or Ali Gaters? Silly names have been appearing on stations including Radio 2 (Steve Wright, Alex Lester, Vanessa Feltz, Lyn Bowles), Radio 1 and 1Xtra (Zane Lowe, Trevor Nelson), talkSPORT (Darren Gough), Radio Norfolk, Radio Cornwall, Radio Scotland, Radio Ulster, BBC London, Smooth and many more. Have a listen to some of the clips Moyles has been playing here. Apparently some stations have even had internal memos round reminding them to double-check any texts before reading them out and to under-no-circumstances do mentions for Toby LaRone. Partypoopers! |

Best one on You Tube features RTE's Pat Kenny reading through some texts - one of which was asking if it was true that Gavin Henson entered church after every game. His co-presenter tries to stop him but he re-reads it, still missing the pun. |

8 minutes 45 seconds of drivel (the second link - third one wouldn't work so I don't know how long it is). "In-depth" interviews on "serious" programmes get less time. _________________ Ron |
