David Cameron has welcomed a cat to Downing Street in an effort to deal with No 10's rat problem. Larry, apparently, is good when it comes to catching rats.
I'm tempted. Very tempted....................

I doubt Larry would beat my old cat in the 'rat' stakes
She used to go down to the local sewage works and leave on average 5 rats on my doorstep every morning
I still miss her but probably not the dead carcasses _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

If Larry is as good as he's made out to be there may be a few dead carcasses at Number 10 sometime soon, perhaps! There's an internal door offering direct access to Number 11. Leave it open, Dave!

What I thought was OTT was the amount of news coverage given to a cat...slow news day perhaps? Dave's new press man getting a "good news" story out for a change? _________________ MiS |

Trouble is that Call Me Dave's new press man can't be that good if he didn't have the nouse to work out just how easily the words "cat", "rats" and "Number 10" could be connected in more than one way! |

He's already lined up for an interview with Nick Robinson and he's on the Question Time panel tomorrow night!

Apparently David Cameron wasn't too keen on the idea of having a cat at all and it was his wife and family who twisted his arm
On a positive note I'm pleased that they opted for a rescued animal from the local cats and dogs home
Perhaps it's Cameron's idea trying to revive his 'Big Society' thing by supporting a local voluntary organisation
I wonder whether he made a donation _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I heard about this on Tuesday morning, by the time evening had come the news item would have ended up on a piece of fish.
Is this part of David Cameron big society is to rescue cats. Or was it a publicity stunt, as they could have put down poison to kill the Rats!! |

He and his neighbour in Number 11 have run out of poison - having dished it all out to the public sector. |

Don't I know it, Rachel! One of my clients has cancelled all new commissions for new-media-based training due to public sector cuts. That's going to cost me about £3000 just for starters, and I'm confident that's just the beginning. Of course, the knock-on effect is that I now have to stand down an Adobe Flash designer and a Javascript coding specialist.
The ripples flow ever outwards...... |

Ah this is where the Big Society takes over, Colin. This is where you do all the work free of charge, but not only that, you employ and pay several young people to help you do it free of charge.. and everyone is happy. Several people get a job, the customer gets their product and you have the pleasure of knowing that you paid for it all. Bingo! I think that is how it's supposed to work. |

Ah, now I see it! Why has Call Me Dave been incapable of defining "The Big Society" as succintly as you have, Rachel?
