... that it's the easiest way to generate cash from an office clear-out and raise just over £450.00 in a single day's auctions.

The downside is that I now have to prepare it all for despatch and it's taken me all morning so far. Hence the reason I'm posting here!

Did you list the stuff last weekend Colin because I noticed they had a free listing weekend for most items?

It can save you quite a significant sum especially if some items don't sell

Unfortunately I was away so I missed it but they generally do them about once a month now

The only downside with e bay is that actually their charges are quite steep and of course often you don't receive the bill until the month end but I do agree it is generally a great place to offload unwanted stuff

No, I put the items (9 in total) on for a 7-day auction which ended yesterday. It's all electronics stuff like monitoring equipment, vectorscopes, etc., that I've acquired from the BBC (analogue studio clear-outs in prep for tapeless digital) that always seems to get buyers on eBay.

It's true that eBay's charges are higher than is ideal - especially when you then couple that with PayPal as well - but for me (and the business) this is outweighed by the convenience of not having to leave my desk, so to speak!

We use PayPal for online sales and card clearance anyhow so it all ties in quite nicely.
