Looks like more & more posters from the Radio 2 message board are all turning up. John and admin you have some work on your hands to monitor this message board. Can you keep an eye 24/7?

I hope people dont abuse it, as it will spoil the atmosphere.

I dont think people will abuse it if there is proactive moderation (which there is).
Thankfully we seem to be getting a lot of people transferring. Previous spin off's have died out because not enough members posted on a regular basis. If there are only 2 or 3 new messages per day, people would soon lose interest.

Maybe previous forums failed to attract because the Radio 2 board was still active? The only other forum I know of that had a healthy community was the former Radio Rewind forum. It was meant to be a Radio 1 fan site for the fans of pre-Bannister Radio 1 but seemed to attract more Radio 2 listeners/posters. Maybe this was because so many great Radio 1 presenters have landed slots on Radio 2 in recent years?

Yeah, I think the closure of R2mb might keep this place alive.

In fact I'm coming on here automatically now, not R2mb, mind you Mr admin hasn't been around much today so I've tried to help out with any technicalities and left this site on all day here to see if there's any probs.

Don't think Cap'n Pugwash has got in yet Confused

Sorry about that guys, I've been sparko on the sofa. Didn't get tooo much sleep last night so it all caught up with me.

The upshot of that is I'll be loitering about until about 5 this morning probably. Cool

I like your point Mark, but there is a very different beast than the R2MB. Although we here will ensure freedom of speech is allowed, we will also NOT put up with continual spamming of opinions, Abuse or vile remarks, these of course will result in a ban. As Admin, we have many ways of blocking people from using this board, and will use each and every one of them to ensure it stays a happy and healthy community.

Hiya Very Happy

Let's all try to keep it as conciliatory and good-natured as poss. I'll be the first to admit that I can be pretty bad at that, and I usually retaliate if attacked, but I'll do my best.

WHO ASKED YOU?..... Laughing Laughing Laughing

No, being serious, self-moderation works most of the time..and anyone can alert the admin/mod if it goes OTT!

(That was a joke by the way, lonegroover!)

Have to admit, that was the one thing that spoilt the R2 boards for me - we'd see a thred start that was articulate and intelligent, only to see it get lost in the mire of personal abuse and pointless rantings.

Hopefully only the more committed to sharing alternate and respectful views ('cos we all aint the same) will bother to transfer to here.

But as you say, there are a lot of us now!

Here Here!
I wish to be associated with the sentiments of the last post, I think that we can all show a little restraint and engage the brain before hitting the keys
