I have. It's great.

I got it for Christmas and have thoroughly enjoyed downloading the freebies and cheaper books. I've been reading a few classics I've not read in a long, long time.

It takes seconds to download a new book and start to read it. You can quite often get a sample first, in case you're not sure if you've read it or not, then it gives you the option to download and buy the book. If you've already bought a book and try to buy it again (senior moments) it tells you and doesn't let you buy it.

What I don't like is that some older books, that you'd expect to be really cheap, are still full price. Can't quite understand why.

I'm going away for the weekend next week. This would normally involve about four books in the case, but I'll just pop some on the Kindle and put it in my handbag. Perfect.

I still read 'proper' books as well.

The Kindle is a very good device and does what it's designed to do well. Personally, I find it a bit hard going and prefer reading "real" books, and I don't like the all-text + B&W image displays (I prefer the Apple iPad) but it's still very good.

I'm actually writing a Kindle-ready eBook right now which will be available on Amazon.

I've had a paperlight for 2 years. I take it all over the place with me, and it was great when I went to Australia as I downloaded a number of books before I left. I like being able to read at night without a bedside lamp disturbing my partner. I love that you can hook into wiki if there's something you don't know about (ie The Cable Street Riot). You can also look up words in the dictionary just by highlighting them and then it has a vocabulary builder so you can have a look at what you have looked up.

On the minus side it isn't the same as a proper book! It isn't so easy to flick back to find stuff although you can highlight.

The book industry must benefit tremendously as no one lends their kindles! Unlike a book which can be read by several people.

Hello Morticia! Glad you like your Kindle, but where do you stand on Chris Evans?*

I've got a Kindle Fire HD and love it because I get to read lots of comics. I must admit when I first bought it I played games but now I'm disciplined and use it for what I bought it for - cheap books and comics. I've subscribed to Marvel Unlimited, which gives me over 15,000 comics (constantly updated) for $70 a year. One comic alone is usually $3.99 so it's a bargain.

The main problem is I had to "sideload" this app, and even legitimate apps can malfunction quite a lot. It's not an intuitive machine, and quite closed off - plus Amazon are always trying to sell you stuff!

Um I didn't know I had to stand on Chris Evans. Shocked not sure where the best place would be? Maybe on his rib cage?
