I was wrong, it would appear
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1366105/Study-finds-miserable-key-long-unhappy-life.html

The researchers discovered that the happy souls went on to take more gambles with their health over the years. They were more likely to drink, smoke and eat badly.
...and it took them 90 years to come to that conclusion. Never heard of the proverb "Let us eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die"

Who'd rather be happy for seventy years, than grumpy for a hundred?

You see Ron there is method in our grumpiness

I'm certainly proud to be called grumpy

It just provides proof even if only for my own benefit that my standards haven't been diluted however much the whole country seems to have dumbed down into the mediocre mess it is now in every area of life

Long live grumpiness is what I say - a long established British tradition Smile
