Is Jeremy trying to be a Commercial Radio DJ, by playing " It's The Jeremy Vine Show " over the top of some music... It's a news and current affairs show, not Capital Radio dance show. |

Jeremy Vine's show is thoroughly tedious, so I guess he really does need to spice up the jingles. That'll improve it no end........... |

He's been doing that for ages Mark..............and it's not a new jingle either!

Jeremy’s show is not tedious- it’s actually very entertaining- bordering comedy most of the time. The trivial things some people get really mad about are brilliant! Bed Sheets- genius! It is a little too left wing at times but the more we hear the Millipede and his hilarious evil henchman Balls, the more the Labour Party looks like a 70s Saturday-night comedy sketch show. <cue Deadly> “Live from South Pier, Blackpool- it’s the Millipede and Balls Show!” |

I think it's really tedious, Rachel. Subjects are often petty, tabloid in nature and JV's cat-on-hot-bricks style annoys me. There's tons of better sources of listening at that time of day. |

You’re just thinking about it multi-dimensionally, Colin. Perhaps a recalibration would do the trick. |

Actually, I'm thinking in an omni-dimensional way! (That's what my wife says, anyhow - but she expresses it as "you've got a one-track mind" or something like that).

On which other show would people get hopping mad about skeletal cats in trees because the Fire Service has reviewed its cat rescue policy, and the riot squad being called out for an 8-year old child on a picnic “shooting” ducks with a catapult? Also bang up the Bankers! |

Are you sure you weren't listening to the audio version of The Sun? |

You take things (on R2) far too seriously, Colin - it's just not meant to be that way.
Let's face it - over a programme lasting two hours there are 12 records (sorry, I hate the word "tracks") lasting at least 50 minutes, and news and trailers take up another ten, which leaves 60 mins max devoted to four news stories. It's not intended to be in-depth or serious - for that go elsewhere (not sure where, I wouldn't call either R4 or R5 indepth either)
Both sides of the argument put forward, with Jeremy bending over backwards to strike balance and some sort of impartiality, followed by listeners' phone calls and emails, which can sometimes be fun (laughable, anyway). However, I usually get fed up with the first stage and switch off before I end up throwing bricks. _________________ Ron |

You're right. It isn't - but I still find it tedious. And that's why I don't listen any more - I just can't be arsed with it all. |

Colin, it’s quite odd that you can’t be arsed (CBA) to listen but you can be arsed to spend time writing down that you can’t be arsed. That’s a lot of arsing about over something that you don’t do. |

Not really. I just wrote that I CBA (interesting, because that was the name of a business I owned until recently!) to listen to JV on account of his show being tedious. Although I CBA to listen, I can at least BA to explain why.
Seems reasonable to me, huh?
I CBA to listen to "The Knob at Breakfast" either, but you know that already!! |
