President Obama has announced that US special forces have killed Osama Bin Laden. This still dosn't stop Al- Qaeda, but will help those people killed in the 911 and London attacks.

Good news I guess, but it's gonna make no positive difference to terrorism since he was "retired".

I think it's really more a symbolic thing than anything else and may go some way towards undermining morale within terrorist groups but nobody should be so stupid as to believe it marks the end of the problems which Mr Bin Lid started

In the short term his followers will be all out for revenge so we all need to be alert more than ever but at least it brings some justice for the families of the numerous victims killed over many years both in the West and elsewhere in the world in terrorist attacks

Personally I find it very hard to believe that certain people within the Pakistani authorities did not know of the fact that Bin Laden was living in their country but I suppose we will never know for certain because clearly the West will need to keep the Pakistani Government on board in its continued war against Islamic inspired terrorism

I guess the happy couple ( Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge ) were told to not go on Honeymoon, unless they have to gone under the radar witha total media blackout. The world hasn't changed, because Bin laden has been killed. It may have got worse.

Also now the US have gained the glory killing Bin Laden, and Obama is on the way for a second term as President of The United States. It's about time the UK troops are pulled out of Afghanistan. It's no place for the UK to help, we will now be classed as a second rated military force. The UK troops should have killed him, but gun ho americans are now celebrating. Lets not forget many British citizens were killed in 9/11, and many more around the world and during the London bombings. Bin Laden in many statements have said " He had plots against America ". So why should the UK troops continue to lose lives amoungst injured servicemen and women. It's a US war, let the UK leave them too it!!

My wife mentioned tonight over dinner without any prompting "I am going to feel nervous about getting on the London tube to go to work tomorrow".

Clearly the terrorist threat does not go away just because Bin Laden is dead.

The speculation whether Obama will release a photo of Bin Laden will not happen, as it's too graphic and could cause a security risk.

US President Barack Obama has decided not to release photographs showing Osama bin Laden's corpse - as gruesome details of the images emerged.

The pictures of the al Qaeda leader reportedly show an open gun shot wound to his head, part of the skull missing and visible brain matter.

One of bin Laden's eyes is reportedly open in the images, while the other is "completely gone".

I wonder how long before someone will leak any pictures?

On the Turn It On Again boards (Genesis fans) a poster credited as Mart Tea passed on a link to the YouTube clip of Frank Skinner singing his Osama Bin Laden song on the Amnesty show!
