Well actually it didn't, but it was fun to watch, and appreciate the intrepid engineering spirit.

I think ours is the only house on the road which doesn't have at least one cat, except for the chap who breeds chinchillas. You can guess whose garden is the favourite meeting place. At least they keep the local rodent population down, and don't bring their trophies into my kitchen.

Just about what I'd expect from some antipodean cretin

Cats are generally very clean animals and bury their excrement unlike dogs whose irresponsible owners leave their pets calling cards around all pavements and grassy areas for the rest of us to tread in
Of course there are many responsible dog owners who would not do so but in general cats create far fewer problems than dogs when it comes to issues of public hygiene

People need to remember that nobody owns a cat (they choose to adopt you if they get well treated) which is why if you run over a cat it does not have to be reported unlike the comparable situation with a dog which I always think is very wrong

For many years I've been involved with Cats Protection in helping to rescue many feral cats and kittens and some cases I have found really shocking

I think the fact is some people need to get a life and if all they have to complain about is the odd cat scent marking their cars then they really do not know how lucky they are compared to many poor people who cannot even afford to keep themselves let alone a pet
