I was wondering if it was worth starting a separate place where we could just drop in to say "hello, how are you and sorry I can't stop" but just to say we've been in and had a quick look but don't have time to contribute at that moment. I don't always have enough time to browse all the threads but would like to just say Hi to everyone. Or maybe the coffee bar is the place to do that? Confused

Hi marietta,

Well, you've created a thread called Hi and Bye! so isn't this the place Question

When people log in they can see a link top of page "View posts since last visit" and if someone has done a Hi and Bye then they'll see the thread listed in the new posts Exclamation

See what admin and others think. Maybe admin can move this thread from 'Suggestions' to 'Coffee Bar' and preserve your thread Smile

Oooh, I've been moved! Never felt a thing! Laughing

Well, just a quick post to say hope you are all keeping well and warm. We have no snow yet in Limburg but it is bitter cold (temps around -2C) and yesterday we had freezing fog - delightful! Today is dull and a bitingly cold wind but dry, which is great as the river level has started to drop at last. Haven't got much time to post today but just wanted to say "hi" and hope you are all coping with the weather wherever you live! Catch you for a chat soon. M. Very Happy

Hi Marietta,

Nice to get a weather report from Holland.
Here in Sussex we had snow night before last. It thawed during the day, but it looks very dark and I see the odd flake coming down. Very cold. Just broke the ice on the birdbath.
I'm hibernating! Doing all the paperwork I should have done YEARS ago.
Keep warm.

200 miles north of you in Nottingham we have a lovely sunny day. Hard frost overnight, though, and, on top of rain which fell late yesterday afternoon everywhere not touched by sunshine is a skating rink.

Ron, Several tens ofmiles north of you and just off the M62 J36, it is fine and sunny at the cloud factory. I 've just turned the heater off.

Good morning all and gosh! Just shows what can happen with a move in the right direction! Very Happy Nice to see you and hear about the weather in your area. As usual I'm pushed for time so this is just a brief hello and I shall have to log on later. Things to do, places to go, people to see. Well, actually it's an opticians appointment and then the library .... Confused Laughing The weather is similar to yesterday, dull and dry but it's still bitterly cold. Have a good day and keep warm! Catch you later. Wink

Over the last couple of days, my bit of 'darn sarf' has had a dose of the white stuff. After some sun (and a snow shower Shocked) yesterday, today the clouds are back but it is liquid falling out of them this time.

Hi all. Been out all morning and just got back. Went for a little drive and a spot of lunch. Hope you are all having a super day and better weather now. It's not bad here - bit dull, damp and chilly but still no snow! Confused

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a nice weekend and keeping warm. The weather hasn't changed much although it is colder and windier. Still waiting for the snow but I doubt we'll get any now as the forecast is for slightly higher temps. Can't stop as I am expecting my s.i.l. for coffee very shortly and need to get organised! See you later. M.

Afternoon Marietta - oops too late she's gone again! Hello John, you've gone too! I haven't been on the boards for a while due to a really terrible cold, which has affected my eyes so it's been a bit painful to see to post. Especially as I had to go back to work on Tuesday, but glad to get back to be honest! I can't cope with colds, they are frustrating, with an asthma attack I know my limitations. Anyway TTFN

Oh shucks! Missed you both! Confused Well, once again I am rushing about multi-tasking Smile and can't stop. Am halfway through the chores and washing but thought I'd take a quick look in. However, if I stay more than a few minutes .... I'll be here for hours!! Shocked So, willpower is the keyword. I'll finish what I'm doing and look in later. Have a nice day everyone. Catch you later. Wink

Good luck with the multi-tasking, Marietta. It is something I am genetically unable to do, being a bloke. Howver I can parallel process quite nicely.

Rolling Eyes I only dropped by for a quick look to see who was in and what's new but I guess a lot of people are having afternoon tea ( Smile ) or perhaps doing some work ( Confused ) or maybe even preparing their evening meal ... Very Happy . It's time for dinner here and I must go - I never seem to be able to stay long. It's been a brief but nice visit. Cool Probably see some of you later or tomorrow. Have a nice evening. Hi everyone. Just got back in from a lovely drive through the country. We thought we'd make the most of the sunshine. The weather today is just gorgeous although there is a very cold wind blowing. Still, it does make you feel as though Spring is just around the corner ... or maybe the one after that! Laughing Hope you are all having a nice day - don't work too hard! Wink

Just a quick hello as usual - no time, no time! The weather has turned yet again. Thick river mist today and very chilly. A good day to stay in and eat comfort food! Very Happy Will try to come back a bit later when I've done the chores (if ever there was a good word to fit the bill that has to be it ...! Confused ) Hope you all have a good day and better weather.

Sounds like you had very nice weather BGW. Very poetic you are with the description! Well, the mist/fog is even thicker today. Can't see the bridge over the river and it is miserably cold and damp as you can imagine. Send some sunshine this way please - we need it!! Very Happy Going to have a quick look round and hopefully return later (after I've done the ironing! Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad ) M.

Marietta, you are welcome to our sunshine. Unfortunately we'll have to waste a bit on Kent First.

I drove in this morning with the moon slowly sinking in front of me, and the sun blinding me through my mirror.

Marietta, you are welcome to our sunshine, but we may have to waste a bit on Kent first. As I drove in this morning, the moon was slowly sinking in front of me,as the sun was blinding me through the back window.

It's days like these that make life worthwhile, especially with the tones of Sir Terence burbling in the background Smile Smile

M

All that driving to work during the week meant that I had to wash the car today. It was cold with a heavy frost this morning. Hopefully mt colleagues at the cloud factory are keeping things going.

Good morning. A quick look in as usual! And another change in the weather. Dull and overcast, dry, windy and cold. Mustn't grumble as yesterday was fab. The Spring bulbs are coming through everywhere so I guess it won't be long before we are surrounded by crucuses and daffodils. Everything seems to be earlier this year. Hope we don't find ourselves in the middle of winter come April!! Well, got to get on. Hope you are all having a good weekend and nice weather wherever you are. (Geddon - please can you wash my car when you've done your own? .... Wink Smile )

Hi all. Smile Thick frost this morning and a mist closing in - so I guess we will be getting a freezing fog very soon. Hope you are getting a better day where you are! Just thought I'd have a quick look round and come back later - why does housework need doing on a regular basis? Rolling Eyes

Hi BGW (et al) - Lucky you. When I got up the weather was clear as a bell with a thick frost and within a ½ hour a thick fog had descended!! So basically it is the same as yesterday - I just know there is a sky up there .... somewhere! Very Happy Catch you later. Must go and do the chores first before I can sit down for the day. Confused

Well, we had snow yesterday! 3 hours of blizzard and the snow settled - but ... it's all gone this morning. Dull, damp and chilly. I guess that was winter. Blink and you've missed it. Our forecast is for higher temps as the weekend and following week progress. Hope you are all managing to cope with the weather in your area and that it's not too bad.

We had unforecasted snow yesterday, and a bit this morning. The cooling tower icicles now approx 2ft long.

Hi everyone. Smile Just thought I'd drop in for a brief look round. Never seem to get much time these days to post ... Confused The weather here has been really nice for the last two days. Dry, cold, windy, some sunshine. This weekend is Carnival in Holland and it makes a nice change not to have to stand around watching the parades in either pouring rain or snow!! Nearly everyone out and about on the streets will be in fancy dress and will have a really good time over the next four days eating, drinking, dancing, watching the parades and generally having fun. Cool And don't forget Tuesday is Pancake Day!! Very Happy Have a great weekend whatever you plan to do. Catch you later on for a chat perhaps.
