Been going through my David Bowie collection and am having difficulty deciding what is my No 1 favourite record by this artist.
If pushed I think I would go for Heroes but there are so many to choose from. What is your favourite? |

All right Julia, I won't!
I like most of David Bowie's stuff. Couldn't narrow it down to just one track. From the 1970's it would be between 'Starman' & 'Life On Mars'. From the 1980's one from my least favourite year 1985 'Loving The Alien' and from the 1990s/2000s 'Slow Burn'. The last two never seem to get played on the radio nowadays. |

You're making our generation look bad. If you ever watch I (heart) the 1970's you'd know that it was a Mr Marc Bolan, very pretty man but died before his time. _________________ Yours Sincerely

The late Marc Bolan was their lead singer. |

TREX is also a brand of cooking fat.
Love D.B tho' can't really say which is my favourite; just grown up with him. Life on Mars when I was teenage and moody, Heroes when I just started work, Low at some point.
Space Oddity (both parts) most of the time.
Sound like a manic depressive!

If push comes to pull (I'm not a major Bowie fan) I'd have to go for Five Years and Sorrow _________________ I'm trying to stop trying, guru. |

Not Sorrow. He had a good try with those cover versions, but I didn't think any of them were as good as the originals.
Just got to go and rub me TREX into the flour for Mondays pie. |

Not a particular fan of Bowie, although I did like "The Laughing Gnome" when I was a kid - does that count? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Of course! I think it was when Bowie was doing his Anthony Newley impressions phase. There was another song called 'Rubber Band' _________________ Geddon

I remember Mr. Sailyour taking me to see Bowie when we were young whippersnappers, and I always remember him kicking off with Queen Bitch during his pre "Ziggy Stardust" tours. Fab!
Favourite Bowie album: Ziggy Stardust played loud.

Slightly off topic, but there's a plaque to Mick Ronson in Queen's gardens in Hull. _________________ Geddon

Quicksand
Most of Hunky Dory is top class, as is Ziggy and Aladdin Sane.
Can't get away with most of his later stuff though, the white soul boy stuff is poor.

I love 'The Laughing Gnome' - there's something endearingly silly about it, it's a damn catchy tune, and it annoys the hardcore Bowie fans who view him as some sort of deity, so it's all to the good! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |
