Because, at the moment Mark, I believe the board profile is set to stop you doing this.

When I created the board, I installed and checked many many styles, and this is indeed the easiest to navigate at the moment. In the future, I may change this and allow users to change their styles, but at present, I think it would be best if everyone has the same style, until we get things up and running. We wouldn't want people getting into problems from it, would we. Cool

Apparently if you change your style on another forum I post on it dosn't effect others. Maybe in the future you be able to tweak a few things? It takes time.

Mark,

If I ammended that feature on this forum, changes would only affect the individual changing it as well. At the moment, as it is purely astetics, I think it best we leave it alone until we are fully up and running.

But definately something to look at in the future.

I know phpBB very well (I've been installing it on servers and running various versions for several years). Changing the board style only affects the user's own display. However, most of the others are naff anyhow and, as John says, this SubSilver style is easiest on the eye. It can also be modded in a number of ways because all the code is Open Source.

The problem with offering users a choice of styles is that different styles format information being called from the database in different ways, and that can directly influence the content they're seeing.

I have a forum elsewhere on the internet and they've appeared on mine too. Think you've got to pay a one off fee to get them removed permanently. Rolling Eyes

I don't have anything, but there is an "errors on the page" message at the bottom of the screen. I think my security package may be blocking them.
