There's a guy reading the news between 1-4am this week who has the most awful regional accent coupled with the sound of being totally bunged up (which he probably isn't)
I'm sure he's a nice person but his voice is not suitable for Radio 2 at all |

They must try them all out on the overnight slots! About a year or so ago I heard a female make the worst ever attempt at reading the news. I'm certain I could have done better myself!

Radio 5 had a female with a broad regional accent and she was really difficult to understand.
She disappeared and turned up on Talk Sport again for a short period of time and disappeared again.
Later on after discussion on a radio forum it appears she used to be on regional TV and was quite well known.
I think more than any other area of broadcasting its most important to be clear when reading the news. If you have a broad dialect or accent it should be softened. |

i heard someone with a geordie accent either on nights on R2 or 6music.
He was ok and i do think there should be more accents on radio
