What it proves is that there are many people in the UK who don't have the sophisticated taste like what I has.
I accidentally heard a little teensy-weensy bit of the "show" that's on Radio 2 at about 6.40 this morning, and the bloke doing the talking was squeaking this silly childish horn every time he said somebody's name. And all this on network radio!
I couldn't believe the banality of it all, but apparently lots of people are "entertained" by it... Each to his/her own, I guess. |

No Colin, what it proves is that the majority of Radio 2 listeners don't have any taste at all - end of story
That is excluding most people on here of course _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Actually, overall Radio 2 has lost 4% of listeners... which is a fair bit (from an admittedly high level). |

It amazes me just how many people do listen to Radio 2 given that their day time shows are dire (my opinion only, but true). I base this on the snippets I hear in garages, shops, business etc that have it on, before anybody asks how do I know if I don't listen.
With a MP3 player on shuffle - who needs radio? |

Exactly. I'm currently listening to 99.3 The Vine ("Just Good Music") streaming from San Francisco via the superb TuneIN Radio App and it's much better than R2's mediocre fare! |

I've had Kool 98.7 that comes out of Bismarck N Dakota on most mornings. 60s 70s and some 80s. I've also been listening over the past few weeks to some old minidiscs that I made probably 10 years ago.

The Vine 99.3 is nice because it comes from the heart of wine-growing country (Napa Valley). Temperatures this morning (ok, afternoon to us) are "only" in the low 80s and there's a mist over the Golden Gate Bridge (in the cse of the latter, isn't there always?).
Minidiscs - yes, I have a boxful of them. I just missed out on a professional studio quality Tascam MD recorder unit on ebay which I wanted to use to transfer recordings to my computer. I'll keep looking! |

Brings back memories Colin, we visited the Napa valley a good few years ago now, and went to one or two of the wineries!
I'm trying to locate a remote control for a Sony MZR5ST unit that belongs to my Dad. He somehow has mislaid it, a credit card sized one, so easy to do. He was trying to use a different one and wondered why it wouldn't respond! According to the manual there is no model number on it which is making it more difficult.

I've just had a name-check on "Kellie In The Morning"!!! Woo-hoo!
OK - simple things pleasing simple minds and all that, but it's amazing really isn't it? Back in the early 70s it took three weeks for one of my requests to be read out on Radio Caroline. |

So far this week in the mornings on Monday I listened to Mark Goodier and yesterday I went on I Player and listened to SOTS from last Saturday again because it was so unusually good
This morning I actually spent 2 hours listening to a CD of Samantha Fox's Greatest hits which my son bought on E Bay last week for one penny with no postage costs and it cost the seller £1-44 to send it to him
It's not actually a bad album with some quite good recent tracks in addition to the well known 80's hits and definitely better than babbling Zoe Ball
Back in 1987 I once met Samantha and her dad in a hotel in Cornwall when she was performing at Carlyon Bay Leisure Centre - both really nice people but sadly he passed away a few years ago _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

R4's Today programme is much more entertaining, anyhow - especially when John Humphries is sinking his teeth into a pompous, evasive politician! |
