I was just wondering who is responsible for compiling the trailers that you often hear during the daytime shows.

Let's just say, for instance, that I was a new Radio 2 listener but I only ever listened from 8 til 5 and wondered what happens at the weekend.

I can't imagine the current trailer being played for the Alan Carr show would make me want to run for my radio "On" button on a Saturday evening.

Honestly, has Radio 2's target audience shifted that far?

I agree with you Angus on the trailers for Carr etc but there have been many documentaries that have caught my ear through trailers. If R2 limited the trailers to the new and one off shows I think we would have a happy medium.

I was thinking this the other day. I can understand trailers for one off programmes, or ones that change their format such as FNIMN but I can't see the point in trailers for Evans, Wright and Carr. I can't stand the shows in question so why do I have to hear trailers graphically reminding me why and how much I can't stand them? If you like them you are already listening and if you don't these aren't going to make you changeyour mind

Don't you get it yet...?
The Radio 2 way is "You get the output you're given and like it- if you protest that you don't like it then you're stupid and ungrateful because the BBC knows best, you ignorant pleb..."

To bring them to the attention of casual listeners? They're not played specifically for your benefit! Rolling Eyes

I would have thought that even the most casual listener would know that Wright is on from 2 - 5 each weekday. I had dark hair when he started. And there was so much publicity about Evans taking over from Wogan you would have had to be on holiday on Mars not to have noticed it.
