Fantastic brave women watching pictures of her with the rebels in Libya. She needs a medal for all the reporting she's done. Sky News have shown some fantastic coverage.

It's still owned and operated by the Mafia though.

The Channel 4 coverage is far superior in my opinion - if you like that kind of thing

Personally I'm sick of hearing about Libya Rolling Eyes

She's after a BAFTA.

While I think it's great that Libya appears to be free, or at least almost free of Daffy there is only so much footage of folks firing guns into the air that one can take.

I think Sky News would be a lot better if it were liberated from the Murdoch Mafia and News International.

Don't like Murdoch but I am a hypocrite as i have the full sky package.Has anyone seen the fox news channel that he owns in the USA?
It's bias is well known and everything is pro republican. As you can guess they are not keen on Obama

Exactly. Fox is a disgrace and if it weren't for a much more stringent OfCom here (than is the FCC in the USA) then Sky stations here would be used in exactly the same way by the Murdoch Mafia. Thankfully, the lid has been well and truly lifted on that scum (thanks to the dedicated efforts of the two newspapers people love to hate as being of the trendy left, namely The Guardian and The Independent) so they have less chance than ever of getting Sky to push a right-wing agenda as Fox does in the states.

Although I intensely dislike Murdoch and his whole media PR machine I have to say that I do not agree with the comments about Fox News

I have spent quite a fair amount of time in the USA and I would say that it is probably more independent in its views from prevailing American Governments as compared to other Murdoch organisations in this country which blatently pedal the British Government line which of course we all know they have a very large say in getting elected in the first place

I don't think the Murdoch brand has anywhere near the same power in the USA and Fox is certainly not alone in its criticism of Obama - quite justifiably in my opinion although at the moment I don't think the Republican alternative would be any better
The fact is America desperately needs competent politicians to lead the world out of recession but the plain fact is at present they are in very short supply Sad

I stand by my statement that Fox is "overtly right wing" in the USA and because it's not constrained in the same way as UK broadcasters are, it can get away with its very clear pro-right stance on so many news and current affairs issues. The on-air presentation style alone is nauseating.

Ruddles, sorry but i have to disagree. They have shows hosted by ultra conservative hosts like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.Mike Huckabee has a show on there and even Sarah Palin is on there more often then not.I will say they do have good viewing figures and that scares me.Check out you tube under fox news and you will find plenty of bias

Well I have to say I haven't watched Fox News for a fair while - in fact I've only ever watched it when in America so I can't comment on any recent content

However the wider point I was making is that whatever you think of Fox News the Murdoch influence in America is absolutely miniscule compared to the influence he has in this country

Fox in America would never come even close to determining who is President of the USA or who is elected to congress whereas here the Sun and Sky News seem to have the ability to select our Government and unfortunately I think this will continue despite recent revelations about our wonderful British Media quite simply because there are a significant number of idiots in Britain who will vote for whoever Murdoch tells them to - that is so long as they get a decent eyeful of bare female flesh on Page Three

I don't think that most Americans are so daft Rolling Eyes

But subsequent comments picked up on this one:

and I have to say I agree wholly. Fox News is most definitely right-wing biased and its editorial stance is clear to see. The fact that News Corp owns Fox must surely come as no surprise to anyone, either, given the way that company operates globally.

I think actually Mark it is the unfortunate British and French taxpayers who have 'liberated' Libya but as yet nobody knows whether we will see a repeat of the Iraq debacle - only time will tell
