It's on right now if you want to listen only, before being able to watch it on BBC2 this Saturday.

I'm listening in HD not sure what the difference is?? Sounding good though.

I've only heard half but left it recording. Just as well as it was somewhat longer than planned.

Looking forward to Saturday as well.

I heard it all including the "extra" bit at the end which was a nice surprise. It's all on my olde worlde tape cassettes.

The audience were in raptures at the end and so apparently was the presenter Suzy Klein. She temporarily mislaid her notes about the next Prom as she was so overwhelmed by tonight's concert.

I played one of mine the other day, and they are still good!

If you do record to computer though it's so easy, especially if you do it after the original recording from the iPlayer.

John Wilson has just been on Breakfast (BBC1) just after o'clock if you want to watch on iPlayer.

There is a tour starting in November as well.

Yes Helen I switched on by chance about 20 minutes before and heard them announce it so I watched it "live". I must check where the tour will be going.

Roll on 9.15pm Saturday BBC2 for 2 hours of heaven!

Saw this on BBC2 on Saturday--a treat from first note to last. Now let's hope Mr Wilson's light music concert, first broadcast on Radio 3 in June, finds its way on to BBC2 (or even BBC1?).

Ian.

Ian, the light music concert was recorded for BBC TV and I remember they announced at the time that it's going to be on around Christmas. Smile

I very much enjoyed the concert, well particularly the first half, didn't catch all the second half.

I liked Clare Teal and Charles Castronovo, the orchestra was fabulous, I expect, as before, a few of the musicians are from philharmonic outfits around the country, and clearly they enjoy working with John Wilson.

Ha good to hear his Geordie or northern accent on the BBC, he would have got nowhere at the BBC 50 years ago!

The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester had about half a dozen seats but all singles when I checked this morning. We'll have to be content with the Prom recording.

Helen, I'd go for the singles if I were you. I've done that before for the sake of not missing out and you can always meet up in the interval.

Just a reminder that Hooray For Hollywood is on again tonight on BBC4 at 8.30 if anyone fancies seeing it again.

It was on Radio 3 on Monday night as well if you just want to listen on the iPlayer.

Just a heads up as it's on again tonight on BBC4 at 7pm!

The best of his Proms so far IMHO!
