Today's schoolboy error was expecting us to believe that Shorty Long's record 'Function At The Junction' was released on Tamla Motown in 1962. It was not 1962, but 1966. There was no such label as Tamla Motown in 1962. Their first release was in 1965. Prior to that Mr Gordy's records came out in the UK on London, Fontana, Oriole and Stateside. I am surprised the collector did not know that.

Re today, Stranger on the Shore is a little piece of heaven.

I don't think it's very long since the Chad and Jeremy one was last on. Jeremy Clyde had a one-scene part in Downton Abbey last Sunday.

Did I hear that there's to be a new feature on dance crazes starting next week? Does anyone know which of the current features is to be rested to make room for it?

Yes what a silly error over the Shorty Long track

It was good to hear Stranger on the Shore but I think it does get played on SOTS fairly regularly - am I the only one who doesn't remember anything about the TV series?

As for a suggested dance feature I doubt there were enough 60's dance styles to keep such a feature running for more than a couple of weeks

Apart from the limbo (if you can call that a dance style) we have the twist and possibly things like the locomotion but after that I'm struggling to think of many more

Most of the memorable dance styles came in the 70's and 80's with artists like The Gap Band and the dreaded Black Lace

One or two more dance styles than that--the Mash Potato, the Clam, the Watusi and no doubt several that I can't think of.

If you can't remember the TV series Stranger on the Shore, you're probably younger than many on here!

Only heard bits of yesterday's SOTS. I guess they will be able to find loads of dances as I recall the Fabulous magazine used to have a different dance every week with instructions of how to do it!
