|
|
I signed up for the free version soon after it started but don't use it very much these days.
However when I logged in recently I noticed that all tracks in 'My Music' had somehow found their way into the 'library' on there. I KNOW I never put them in there so how on earth did they get there? Does anyone know how I can remove my 3.5gb of tracks from the library?
I've also noticed that if I go to 'My Music' to play a track it plays it using Spotify rather than Win Media Player.
Any thoughts gratefully received!

Hello Helen, not sure why you're music has gone into the library of Spotify.
Re the other question, on Vista when you click on the Vista button one of the options is "Default Programs" where you can change what player plays your music.
If that doesn't work for you, you can go to an MP3 (or whatever) file and Right Click on it, then Left click on "Open With" and then choose what program you want as your player.
Also tick the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
Hope that helps, Gaz |

Thanks Gaz I'll have a look at that. I think Spotify was the last player I installed which I think makes it the default?

I downloaded Spotify today (the free version) and have put quite a few tracks in to my playlist already.
This is probably a thick question but will they stay in the playlist forever, or at least until I remove them, or is it for a limited time only?
I heard on the grapevine that after a certain amount of time they disappear and you have to add them again.
Can anybody advise please? |

I still have things in my Spotify playlists that I downloaded quite a while ago and they haven't disappeared. A couple of tracks have disappeared but I think it's because with the free version you can only listen to things five times and then they disappear. |

Yes, I do use Spotify but only the free version. I marvel at the range of music which it allows me to access.

I logged in on our other computer yesterday and it seems you can only listen to a track 5 times from now on using the free version. I've been on there for probably 3(?) years but use it somewhat spasmodically.
It's a great site but I think it was probably better when it first appeared as there are far more restrictions.
Not sure I'd want the paid for version and I don't like the connection to Facebook now.

Since my last post I've been using it quite a bit so am thinking of going to the cheaper of the paid for versions, £4.99 a month. Has anyone got that?

I deleted it when I found that muting the sound while an advert is only only pauses it, so unless you remove your headphones every time you must listen to the advert. I'm afraid I hate that kind of thing.
Back to the 'pile' of MP3s at work now. |
