Dr Liam Fox has resigned as defence secretary over his dealing with his friend Adam Werrity. Phillip Hammond has been appointed has his replacement. |

The pressure from the Leader of the Opposition certainly seems to have worked in this case
Funny that really - I always thought the Labour Party was opposed to Fox Hunting _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Could read his scared face a week ago, it was evident he knew he'd been breaking rules/security and he would have to go sooner or later. _________________ -

I can't think why he ever embarked on such a dubious arrangement in the first place. Anything like that would be bound to come out in the end and it certainly shows very poor judgement if not downright stupidity which makes him unfit for such an important role as Defence Secretary.
Adam Werrity sounds a slippery character and on the make from that friendship. I wonder if they will remain such good friends? I hope we get to know the details when the report comes out. It seems that a police investigation into Werrity might delay its findings. |

Quite frankly Eileen I smell a big cover up here
It was routine in the Blair era and sadly although I would have hoped for better I think it will happen again under Mr Cameron _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

It looks as if you're right about a cover-up Ruddles. According to the Telegraph it seems that detailed info about how Werritty was funded will not be made public. I hope he gets his come-uppance somehow.
And why is Fox expected to be given a severance payout of £17,000 plus? If it's true will he do the honourable thing and repay it?
The whole affair stinks. |
