According to their website both will be on DAB but the 70s will only be available in London and the 60s in a variety of areas

Pete Mitchell is joining Absoulte 60s and told Radio Today the station won't be playing any Cliff Richard. Richard Skinner is joining Absoulte 70's

I shall be listening to both Absolute 60s and 70s. It will make a nice change from all those 80s songs that are played non stop on Radio 2 and on virtually every other station, especially the dreadful local stations.

There was some brilliant music around in the 80s but we are being saturated by it. I supppose all the media luvvies behind these shows are now in their 40s and so the 80s was their decade.

This morning Chris Evans dedicated part (if not all - who knows) of his show playing CIN requests for Cliff, blasting Absolute 60's for banning his records.

And Cliff was his usual grumpy old man about it in the newspapers and on TV too.

All very good publicity for Absolute Radio, I suspect. Wink

(And I wasn't ill, I was taking the car in for service and couldn't be bothered to retune the radio for the short journey.)

I caught a bit of Absolute 60's this morning, once I'd ploughed through some woman on a recorded loop urging me to 'sign in' for god knows how long. I was a bit disappointed actually. It didn't sound very much like the sixties to me, just those hits of the sixties that sound like the kind of music that gets played all the time on other wavelengths. I'll give it another go, but it looks like it might be quite miss-able.

Why on earth should we have to give out personal details in order to listen online? If I can't get it on DAB I'll do without!
