I always thought that 6music was supposed to feature regular rock docus etc but I never look at its schedule now. Have I missed anything interesting recently?

Not much at all Ian, even less for me as I cannot abide the sound of Evans' voice for 1 second. These days I only listen to Ken and catch the odd few minutes here and there of a couple of Sunday afternoon shows, but now that MFY has gone I doubt I'll bother. I hope teh Controller is pleased with himself, alienating those of us that appreciate good music and lyrics.

I still find things to enjoy on R2. I don't, and never have, listened to Ken Bruce or Chris Evans but I do enjoy Drivetime these days and at the weekend, SOTS, then I don't have to rush to turn the radio off afterwards - I think Graham Norton's summer replacement is OK. I listen to Tony Blackburn if I'm within reach of a radio. On Sundays I can usually tolerate the Steve Wright love-in and enjoy both Sir Terry or Michael Ball. I prefer Barbara Windsor to Elaine Paige and then of course SOTS with Johnnie Walker. I don't switch off Paul O'Grady and have enjoyed the sadly departed Alan Titchmarsh. So I guess I listen to much more Radio at the weekends than weekdays. I listen to Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra a lot during weekdays though.

Not much left for me either.SOTS, Ken, a bit of Vine before it all turns shouty. POTP, Johnnie Walker and Richard Allinson on the iplayer if posible and that's it. Shame really since at one time it was all R2

Radio 2's loss is Classic FM's gain - Alan Titchmarsh has just signed up to present their Sunday morning show. Good move on their part, I reckon.

That's interesting news Ian, I shall listen out for that although I somehow doubt that we shall hear the delightfully eclectic mix that he used to play on Sunday evenings.

Thanks for that information,Ian .....I will give it a whirl (if I remember) but as Eileen says it probably won't have the mix of music that his Melodies For You had...I really miss that programme. Sad

I'm looking forward to Alan's new show

He is an excellent presenter who was hamstrung on Radio 2 by having to present a mediocre mish mash of music which had little direction and which was all things to all men (and women)

I think he will be far more at home presenting decent quality classical tracks which have stood the test of time

I guess it's a bit like comparing someone presenting music by Take That as compared to music of the Beatles
