I am thoroughly enjoying the Woman's Hour dramatised adaptation of A.S.Byatt's book.
I was lent the book by a friend some years ago who told me not to be tempted to give up half way through but to persevere to the end. I followed her advice and was rewarded with a great story.
It can be a bit hard-going with some rather flowery Victorian poetry but it is a fascinating tale of literary detective work and the development of two love stories - one in Victorian times and the other in the present day. |

I agree absolutely, Eileen. In fact I think the quality of the Woman's Hour drama series is usually excellent. |
