|
Quote: | Thieves in Manchester dug a 100ft (30m) underground tunnel to get to a cash machine.
The theft happened overnight on Monday 2 January at Blockbuster in Fallowfield Shopping Precinct, Levenshulme.
Thieves dug the tunnel directly under the cash machine and used machinery to cut through more than 15in (38cm) of concrete to steal the money.
Det Sgt Ian Shore from Longsight CID said: "In all my years of service, I've never seen anything as elaborate." |

"They must also have spent a lot of time in the area over the past few months, which people may have noticed."
Yes, lots of baggy trousered men carrying shovels and whilstling "The Great Escape"
You have to admire their skills really! give 'em a job on the new London Underground! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Ha, they got only £6000 because they broke in AFTER folks had withdrawn tons of cash for the sales.
If they'd waited one more day it might have held £50,000! _________________ -

Well I don't know how many people were involved but £6000 for 6 months work doesn't seem a fantastic return. They would have been better off with a proper job. |
