The success of the Imaginary Clock Award is plain for all to see: the Presenters of Radio 2 have all upped their game, knowing that at any and all moments while on air they are being monitored and considered for the award by a team of Professional Radio Listeners. (That’s us. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it) We wondered in the office if it might have the same effect if we were to consider Forum Posts for a similar weekly- street-cred filled award. After much debate we decided that from next Friday (a week tomorrow) we will be awarding a Member of this Forum, yes it could be you, with an Imaginary Clock, (you want to win one already) a entirely different Imaginary Clock to the R2 Imaginary Clock but nevertheless, an Imaginary Clock. How cool is that?!

There will be some rules of course: … there always is. The main rule being: only Posts about Radio 2, its Shows and Presenters will be considered. So whilst you may have a funny story about getting your toe stuck in the tap while you were in the bath, unless Ken Bruce or Sally Traffic was in the bath with you, then you’re unlikely to qualify: - any other rules will be published as and when required:-

As ever, nominations for Post of the Week Award by PM only – that’s Private Message not afternoons.

Watch this space.

Welcome to the 2012 inaugural R2OK Post of the Week Award Ceremony. We did hope to open this ceremony with the kind of pomp and circumstance that befits such an auspicious occasion: you know, red carpets, rock ‘n’ roll legends, supermodels popular public figures, the paparazzi etc, but we decided, no, that’s been done already: let us be different. So you have me (none of the above- although I do get mistaken for Gwyneth Paltrow when shopping in Town*): I’d like to start, so I will by saying: in the absence of any nominations at all for post of the week (thanks), we’ve had to trawl through the entire confection ourselves – paper everywhere: little Jimbo the work experience lad, printed off the entire forum: no one could work out how to stop the printer- even switching it off and on again didn’t work. Having done that- we came up with three posts worthy of consideration… (we’ve added our own comments in red and brackets)

1.Angus McCoatup: on Zoe Ball. Do I need to say any more?
(Apparently)

Is it really so difficult to host a music quiz on the radio?
(Apparently)

Why doesn't someone just sit next to her and press the right buttons at the same time. Laudible really.....
(Have you seen how tall she is?)

On another note, isn't it funny how RA, KB and ZB share the same musical tastes?”
(yes)

2.Ruddlescat , in the news section: “A typical throwaway article from Britains worst 'comic' which is of little news value just like most of the other c--p they print

Is anyone really interested in these titillating snippets most of which are either made up or exaggerated anyway

There are some very sad people in this country who read this kind of rubbish and who need to get a life ”

(You’re not Mr Angry from the old Steve Wright Posse are you?)

3. John Wright : also in the News Section : “That was a typical London, London, London..... it's the only place in the world

We have 4 million people crammed into the West Midlands, you know! or maybe you didn't

That's 32 million farts a day!”

(London is certainly one of the only places in the world).

We have made a decision: The winner and custodian of the Imaginary Clock for the R2OK Post of the Week Award… goes to John Wright… Well done John:- up here on the third floor we cracked up.

*London Town.
