The Sun On Sunday will be launched this coming weekend 26th February. Rupert Murdoch said when he visited the paper last week -"that it will be launched very soon" Some ex employees of the News Of The World were shocked, and don't know what the staffing levels will be. Victoria Newton is tipped to be the Editor of the Sunday version. |

Not far enough.
What's in a name? The NotW was to all intents and purposes The Sun on Sunday anyway.
It's a bit like teenage acne. You thought you'd got rid of it at last, only for it to come back just as bad as before.
(Shameful pre-judgment - it could turn out to be an erudite, intellectual and politically balanced news journal. What's the difference between Fat and No chance again?) |

Well I certainly won't be buying either the inaugural or any other editions
I'd rather spend my money feeding the rats down my local sewage works than put money in the pockets of Murdoch and the hoard of corrupt sewer rats employed on the Sun _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

We bought the very last NotW to put into our time capsule- we're having some building work done you see, which is going to last most of this year. In the capsule will go, the last NotW- the first Sunday Sun, my old i-phone, my old flip phone., some photos of the planet from outer space, a CD a DVD ( Star Wars) - a Bible and a set of schematic manufacturing diagrams for the Starship Enterprise, as well as some other bits and bobs. The capsule will be buried in a special chamber about 4 feet below where our new kitchen sink will be. I'm hoping that in a post apocalyptic world , the capsule will be found by some future civilised species and they’ll think…. Blimey! They came in a space ship! |

I think that's rather wishful thinking on your part Rach
If you're planning to bury a copy of the last NOTW and the first Sunday Sun I'm guessing their first thought will be
'Good Heavens - now we understand why they banned silicon implants all those years ago' _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Newspaper sales are declining seems a bit odd to bring out a new one although you may as well call it NOW 2 _________________ I found out how you can hurt an insect. It's the bees knees |

Isn't the whole point of time capsules to be a 'snapshot ' of the day the capsule was buried?
The Star Wars DVD (of the first film?), the cover/case or the credits when viewed, will explain to the future species that the first film was made in 1977. Your old i-phone is likely traceable to 2007

No certainly not. A time capsule is nothing more than exactly that. It’s a capsule that contains “stuff” that whoever is burying the thing wants to put in it and for whatever reason they choose. I’m not aware of any laws, regulations or even conventions that says everything in a time capsule must be from the same date. |

ello, ello, ello... Time Capsule Police 'ere, what's all this about a dodgy Time Capsule?
I've never buried a Time Capsule.. in fact I wish I had now. I do however take the opportunity to hide newspapers, things or scribble little notes whenever I build a wall or alter things.
One downside of this though is when you alter things yet again to find a note you left 25 years ago! My, doesn't time fly?? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

It's worse than that, Santa,... the date on the capsule is April 3054 ( the year I was born... er made... well assembled. You know how it is with us cyborg time-travellers- different parts, different eras etc.... I'll have been dead for just about a 1000 years before the time capsule catches up with time and starts to age. It's a long time for me to have a smile on my face, when, to be frank, I'll have little else to do.
Update:- The Sun on Sunday is rubbish... nothing worth reading in it: my time capsule is the best place for it. |
