|

Just a reminder about the BBC Radio Essex Pirate Radio weekend that kicks off on Friday morning!
A lot of the old DJs are back, Emperor Rosko, Dave Cash, Roger Day, Keith Skues and of course Johnnie Walker. Gary Walker, ex Walker Bros, is also making a guest appearance.
The schedule can be found here:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/content/articles/2009/03/30/pirate_schedule_2009.shtml and of course you can listen online if you are not in the Essex area.
It was fantastic last time so lets hope it's as good this time round.
If I remember correctly a few of us had a laugh listening online and chatting so maybe we could do it again?
H
PS Use this link to listen as it's not the normal Radio Essex on line.

I said it live on air in the studio with Jeremy Vine on 10/3/2005

Yes, I thought that - especially since he's an ex MV Galaxy resident! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Hello, good people. It's been a while...you haven't changed a bit.
I know this will interest one or two of you...Helen, Becky and Rick, for a start.
From the very excellento Dave Cash website, here are a couple of gems - Dave and Johnnie Walker - Uncut, and two shows from the Pirate Weekend of 2007. I've not even heard them myself yet, but have hotfooted it straight over to here, to share my treasure find. Arrrr......
Just click on Podcasts, and this opens a different page.

Listening to Dave Cash now and it's fantastic. Brings back those evenings when we all sat at our computers and listened online chatting about the songs as they came on. Those were the days!
Thanks again Raver!

Yes cheers,Raver...good to see you over here ...... having those programmes to listen to will help fill the void left by Bill Kenwright's departure...nice one!
It was great fun listening together on-line, Helen, wasn't it?... commenting on the artistes and songs as they came on whilst recounting some of our own memories of the time..... |

You rang, m'lord..?
I listened to the two Cash and Walker podcasts, and enjoyed them very much.
That pirate weekend was a great one, Becky and Helen, wasn't it..? We should all click on the link next bank holiday, or whenever. It's been a good few years, now, and it'd be almost as good, to relive that again. Even if there were only three or four people, it'd be good. Maybe the pirates have something planned for this year, as it's another five years on...but in these days of BBC austerity, maybe not. _________________ life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans |

Blimey...hard to believe it's five years...where does the time go???
When I first clicked on the link it kept cutting out so I changed my browser and it was fine on the second one ...just thought I'd say in case anyone else was having the same problem. |
