I've no idea but it's a long time.

I don't hear it often these days as I don't listen in the early mornings, but I always found it interesting and it's no bad thing to stop and think for a moment or two.

I do listen to Janice and Alex a bit and they have it on.Sometimes it's interesting but just wonder about the history of it.will go and look at R2 website

I missed this post first time round so he's the brief history.

Pause for Thought was first broadcast on Monday 6 April 1970 at 0855. Initially it was a stand alone programme scheduled between the end of Breakfast Special and the start of Pete Murray's Open House. It was incorporated into Terry Wogan's Breakfast Show some time in 1972.

Pause for Thought succeeded Five to Ten - "a story, a hymn and a prayer" - that had run on the Light Programme and then Radio 2 between 1950 and 1970.

I remember Five To Ten from whenever I was off school as a child! My mum always has Housewives Choice on which it followed.
