is sitting in for Janice this week.About 20 odd years ago my first job was working for Polygram (now universal?) and he was working as an A+R man.I found most of them to be very how can i put this?...very much up their own bottoms but he was a nice bloke and although he took the mick out of me for being a bit of a goth he could take the banter back.I was working in the postroom hoping to make my way in the music biz but soon came to the conclusion that it wasn't going to happen and tbh left after about a year.Only good thing about it for me were the free tickets and cd's which were just starting to come out

I actually did an interview for Radio 4 about ten years ago and whilst in the green room waiting to go on air I was told that if I wanted any refreshments I should pick up the phone and dial a particular number to put me through to the canteen

I dialled the number I'd been given which was clearly the wrong number and ended up speaking to Dave Pearce live on Radio One asking for sandwiches and coffee

I did apologise and explained that the mistake was not down to me but he was absolutely horrible and was very insulting

I never liked the man much even before that incident and like him even less now and as far as I am concerned he is certainly not welcome on Radio Two Evil or Very Mad

To be fair if yow was a presenter on R1 you would be miserable as well.Pete Tong was the biggest numpty going in my eyes.Good at his job but quite a nasty man in my humble opinion
