Terribly distressing scenes, poor lad, I hope he'll be OK. Horrible reminder of what happened to Marc Vivian Foe. |

He's stable in hospital. Thankfully CPR on the pitch has helped. |

The official statement from Bolton reads that he is critically ill, I'm afraid Sky News were given the wrong information when they stated he was 'stable'
Hope he pulls through. |

Sky News had blanket news coverage once they said stable moved on quickly, but seemed to back track when critical was announced. BBC seemed to hold back off the gas. I do hope he will pull through, very sad. |

Obviously I hope he survives, and as a fit young man he should do, but we must'nt overlook the dozens of other young people to whom this happens every year and who do not pull through. Full credit to the excellent medical facilities at Spurs (and other grounds) and to the fans who showed him such respect.
No doubt Muamba, if and when he pulls through, will, as a highly paid player, donate a huge sum of money to the NHS which saved him, or set up some sort of charity. But as he's a footballer, don't hold your breathe.... |

Whilst obviously I have great sympathy for anyone who has the misfortune to suffer a cardiac arrest I just feel that the media coverage of this story is totally over the top
All day today before every televised football match we have been inundated with exactly the same details as we had last night and by now everyone in Britain and probably the world must be aware of what happened and the fact that the player concerned is in hospital critically ill as are many other people at the present time
I feel that the media should simply leave this story alone until such time as there is anything new to report - I'm sure the family of the player concerned would appreciate that _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

Exactly. It's just another example of football feeling sorry for itself.
I have much more sympathy for the dozens of children killed in the coach crash in Switzerland, the 6 British soldiers killed in Afghanistan, and the twenty innocent Afghan civilians killed by that dumb yank. All these have been forgotten, supplanted by this story. We need to keep things in proportion. |

If you were to read up on his background and his personality you would know he more human than most footballers. _________________ -

Apparently he has 3 A levels so is certainly more educated than most footballers and fans, which is why I hope he makes a donation to the NHS or to a relevant charity. |

Frabrice Muamba is retiring from football. He collapsed on the pitch in the FA cup tie in March. He's been recovering, but surgeons have warned him that top flight football could lead to more strain on his heart. |

I reckon someone is in for a nice big insurance payout in that case - either the player himself or his club - or possibly both _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |
