Nice to see you here Nick! Hope all well with you, it's been a long time!

Some may remember Nick from the first R2 boards and the Coffee Bar as well.

Many thanks for the warm welcome H, and a big hello to the rest of you all; the many old faces and the many new ones.

Yes, it has been quite some time now, must be somewhere around 10 years since I first met a lot of you on the old old BBC message boards and then moved across to the newer DNA based boards, can't believe that has come and gone too.

It seems just like yesterday too, worryingly, can it really be so long ago ?

And hello to you Nick.

You'll find many of us are listening to R2 less and less. So many of the old shows are gone forever through the passing of presenters, and the chop from Mr Shennan.

Not many of us here listen to daytime shows, nor to Jo Whiley who replaced Radcliffe/Maconie.

News (old news really):

There's a Facebook page now for SOTS listeners.

After the passing of Malcom Laycock I took on a similar weekly show of old dance/variety music, as a podcast, and rather unexpectedly I've kept it going for over 3 years, and broadcast over 150 podcasts, many of which can still be downloaded.

I'm listening as much as ever, Chris Evans on the morning commute, Simon Mayo in the evening (confession is essential, Dr Mosh even more so) and missing Radcliffe and Maconie later on. iPods, iPhones and CD changers full of music deals with that problem though.

The remainder I catch as and when, depends where I'm off to and what I'm doing, basically.

The cafe i go into at lunchtime has Jeremey Vine think he is good but music choice is a bit bland but im sure he throws in his odd choice as well.Sure i have heard Elivs Costello twice recently but could be wrong
